(Ding! Dong! It's Musicians' Union shark time... Due to recent wedding client expectations and wider feedback from the team of musicians, we've updated our fees for commercial bookings across all of our productions so that they are closer to Musicians' Union National Gig Rates April 2018 (see below).
Red & Black Music has traditionally paid moderate fees in comparison to other artists, productions and labels to keep ourselves competitive and accessible to promoters. Given the high calibre of musicians we're booking and the increased expectations required (in particular for weddings) we've deemed it necessary to address these fees.
Unfortunately, this update will mean that the commercial fees will increase for the most part.
We've finally ditched the tapered fees structure that's been in place since 2010 so that the fee for performing solo becomes the same as the fee for performing as part of a larger lineup.
However, we've implemented a number of related conditions and costs which will hopefully ease this radical transition and change things for the better.
Many thanks for your patience,
And apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Unfortunately, we’re not yet in a position where we can produce videos. This is due to the various legal and financial factors involved of hiring musicians and venues. We’ve seen it occur in the past that musicians and venues breach agreements, and it is more difficult to ensure that the video is of the required standard when there are so many risks at stake. However, we do plan to produce videos for all artists eventually once we have the necessary legal protections/insurances in place (but we’d rather ensure that the videos are a true representation of our quality rather than producing ones that don’t adequately reflect the lineup).
Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Please be assured we are on the case with this!
