04 September / 19:00 / More Info / Buy Tickets A night of music and dancing featuring some of London's finest Latin performers. Diáspora 12-piece band + Fiesta Latina. Featuring guest vocalist Ingrid Rueda. Diáspora is a London-based Latin band bringing you a one-way ticket to the music of the Americas. The 12-piece lineup (3 vocalists, 3 percussionists, 4 brass, piano and bass) lends itself to an expansive big band sound without losing the dynamism and spark of a small group, and combines sensuous vocals, sophisticated horn lines and explosive percussion solos... With their vision to unite the rhythms of the Americas, their music is uplifting, inspiring and unifying, celebrating the diversity of cultures that arose out of the African Slave Trade, whilst focusing on the Cuban, Brazilian and globalised salsa sounds which have become significant musical languages and forms of solidarity and cultural exchange among communities throughout the world. Fiesta Latina recreates the sizzling, scorching sounds of Latin America and the Caribbean with an uplifting sound which is inspiring and unifying, mixing salsa with other influences to bring you a fresh, funky and instant Latin house party experience. With its compact 4 piece line-up of vocals, piano, percussion and trumpet, Fiesta Latina distils a vibrant + stylish mix of salsa, funk, soul and samba, from Cuban classics and laid back Brazilian beats right through to the present day. An evening in Cuba at The Jazz Cafe.

Fiesta Latina is the "instant coffee" alternative to the brewed beans of Diáspora and mixes salsa, merengue, son and rumba with Latin jazz, pop, samba and Bossa Nova to create a fresh, funky and instant Latin house party experience. With its compact lineup of vocals, keys, cajon and trumpet, each of the instruments taking their respective leads, their performance style places a high emphasis on live, acoustic, spontaneous interaction. Starting off in late 2013 with the re-launch of Rubicon Bar Surbiton and in early 2014 with Be At One Reading's 1st birthday, the band went on to perform a sequence of events celebrating Havana Club "El Ron De Cuba" which took them to Leeds, Bristol, Manchester, Oxford, Plymouth and Birmingham as well as London venues such as The Lion And Unicorn, Duke's Head Putney, The Half Moon Putney and the Sugar Hut. In summer 2016, the band were joined by Alexandra and will be opening the night with a short set of tunes by the likes of Juan Luis Guerra and Celia Cruz as well as some tropical classics. #fiesta #salsa #acoustic #Latin #house #party #instant #coffee #cocktail#mocktail #jazz #fusion Off to Somerset this morning to play for the wedding at the lovely North Cadbury Court
